ALLOCATIONS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Do you have the answer to our $600,000 question?
Join local volunteers in deciding how to allocate United Way donations to local programs.
We need you.
Become one of our trained volunteers who evaluate local agency programs and recommend funding—making sure United Way contributions do the most good.
Everyone can participate.
It doesn’t matter who you are—a manager, a factory worker, an accountant, a pharmacist, a sales person, etc. All you need is a desire to help the community.
Feel like doing some good?
As an allocations volunteer you will have the power to help people all over our community. You will allocate River Valley United Way funds to programs at local agencies in the following areas:
• EDUCATION: helping children achieve their potential
• INCOME: promoting financial stability
• HEALTH: improving people’s health and independence
What’s involved?
• You will be asked to give about 20 hours of your time, most of it during the workday.
• A two-hour training session will teach you how to read budgets and evaluate programs.
• You will visit five to 15 programs as part of a panel of allocations volunteers reviewing local nonprofit human services.
• As part of an allocations panel you will make funding recommendations to send to the United Way of the Plains’ board of directors.
It’s easy to sign up.
If you would like to become a River Valley United Way allocations volunteer for the community, call Kristy Owens, Finance & Programs Director at 479-968-5089 or email info@rivervalleyunitedway.org.
